Michael Moritz
Author, Filmmaker & Speaker
Michael Moritz, born in Germany in 1989, was a banker and studied economics with a focus on tourism. Most recently, he developed adventure tours in the Alps for an tour operator and taught at the University of Applied Sciences in Saarbrücken. At the beginning of 2019, he ended his career and began to travel slowly around the world with his camera in his luggage. After his participation as a protagonist in the German ARTE documentary "Auf dem Jakobsweg" (2019), he founded the independent documentary production company "micro cosmos film GbR" together with Anna Baranowski. Funded by the Thüringer Kulturstiftung, their debut film "Namaste Himalaya" was released in German and Austrian cinemas in the summer of 2022. In parallel, Malik-Verlag published Michael's first book "Namaste Corona!", sponsored by the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, which was published as a paperback by National-Geographic/Malik in 2024. He toured Germany with his multivision show, a live reportage about his trip around the world.
Today, Michael travels the world as an author and filmmaker with Anna and their daughter in a converted fire truck.
